Welcome to Toddler room Elgin
Our toddler room is created for children aged between 2– 3 years. The toddler room facilities are planned and designed to encourage
children’s curiosity, exploration and play. Practitioners ensure our toddlers feel safe
and secure and are encouraged to ‘have a go’ and be adventurous.
The room provides children with a messy area, sensory area, creative area, role play
area, and a cosy, comfortable den and wooden climbing equipment.
Toddlers enjoy finger painting, play dough,
and malleable play such as shaving foam, cornflour, ice moulds, etc.
Our aim is to motivate our toddlers to try new things and enjoy different experiences,
whilst building their confidence and self-esteem.
We introduce toddlers to music and movements, sounds and early phonological
awareness through introducing new sounds, words, daily reading and singing.
Our toddlers are full of energy and curiosity, so activities are planned around their
interests and their next steps. Our toddler room has been designed to provide
children with engaging experiences and opportunities, activities which provides them
with new challenges, that help them to learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
What's special
Music and Sports
Toddlers enjoy daily garden time and regular sports sessions outdoors. They are introduced to lots of different ways of movement whilst crawling through tunnels, under and over bridges, hand and eye coordination by passing balls to each other and a lot more.
Sound and tunes. Children's listening skills and phonological awareness begins with sound. Making music with alternating high and low sounds is something our babies love and truly enjoy. Weekly sessions of Music are also available for our baby class and they are a great success.
Building superstructures with tubes, pipes and tunnels. Elevating and levelling, running cars and balls through them is just brain building through problem solving.
Being around the nature is the best start for everyone in their early years. The touch of all natural objects develops children's sensory experiences and their ability to describe what they feel.
